We’ve showed our first version of the Guatek Mariana 17 at the 10th annual H2O Conference in San Diego, CA. The Mariana is a mobile, submersible computing system for ocean exploration. Some of its key features are:

  • Deep water housing rated from 6700 to 12,000 meters.
  • Clear glass housings suitable for optical imaging in deep water.
  • High-performance dual-core Intel single board computer running a variety of operating systems.
  • Light-weight, high-capacity lithium ion batteries with space for up to 720 Whr standard and room for expanding up to more than 1 kWhr.
  • Integrated power management system that controls all aspects of charging, discharging,  and automatic shutdown.
  • Net buoyancy of up to 50 lbs (depends on depth rating).
  • Over 900 cubic inches of space for instrumentation.

Below are some photographs of the first version of the Mariana fully assembled.
